This carafe was produced by Schneegattern, an Austrian glassworks known for its mid-century modern designs during the 1960s. The company specialized in creating elegant, functional glassware that combined traditional craftsmanship with contemporary aesthetics. The smoked glass technique and modernist form reflect the design sensibilities of the era, when European glass manufacturers were experimenting with colored glass and streamlined shapes.

Schneegattern pieces are highly sought after by collectors of mid-century modern glassware and Austrian decorative arts. These items appeal to enthusiasts who appreciate the clean lines and sophisticated color palettes characteristic of 1960s European design. The combination of functional form and artistic execution makes these pieces valuable both as usable objects and as display pieces in modern and vintage-inspired interiors.

There is a chip on the rim. Super cool MCM design and silhouette.
